Plan Things To Look Forward To
Don't just let life happen to you. Happen to life. An important way to do this is to plan things to look forward to.When you lead a busy life it's easy to fall into the habit of surviving your day/week, rather than intentionally planning your day/week/month with things to look forward to--things you really want to do. By putting things on your calendar that you look forward to, you energize your schedule with excitement and hope. Remember how good it feels to have that dinner party, vacation, date night, hike with a friend, sporting event, or whatever looming a few days away on your calendar?My recommendation: Put at least 1 thing per week on your calendar that you look forward to. This adds up to 52 calendar events a year to look forward to. At the start of each month, be intentional about sprinkling your calendar with these life-giving moments.There can be great variety to what you schedule. One week it might be time alone to read that new book. The next week it might be hosting a small party at your place.
